La pince de contrôle permet de régler l'avance initiale avec précision. Elle fonctionne avec
les modules CARBIER type 1,
mais peut ne pas fonctionner avec un autre type d'allumage.
Elle se compose d'une grosse pince de masse, dont une branche contient une diode
électroluminescente. L'autre pince, la petite, permet
le branchement sur le ou les rupteurs, successivement.

The ignition control clamp allows the initial advance to be trimmed
very easily and accurately. It works with the CARBIER
ignition modules type 1, but may not work with an other type of
ignition.
It is made of a large ground clamp, with an LED integrated in one of
the arms. The other clamp, smaller, is connected to the points, one
after the other.

Placer la grosse pince sur le carter, comme sur la photo. De cette façon, la LED est parfaitement visible pendant le réglage.
Connecter la petite pince sur un des rupteurs.
Régler l'écartement des contacts à la distance recommandée par le construteur (en général 0,3 à 0,4 mm).
Tourner la platine porte-rupteurs de telle sorte que quand on tourne le vilebrequin dans le bon sens, la LED s'allume au moment
précis où le repère du porte-came passe devant le repère fixe du carter.
Un réglage fin complémentaire à la lampe stroboscopique est
souhaitable.

Place the large clamp on the crankcase, as shown on the picture, so
that the LED is clearly visible during the operation.
Connect the small clamp to one of the points.
Adjust the gap between points to the value specified by the manufacturer
(usually 0,3 to 0,4 mm).
Turn the points holder plate so that, when the crankshaft is turn in
the right direction, the LED goes ON right when the indicator on the cam
holder passes in front of the fixed sign on the crankcase.
A further fine trimming with stroboscopic lamp is desirable.
